Levant–Atlantic Link

Levant–Atlantic Link is our own name for a routing, not a service anyone can book. Consignments moving westbound from the Jerusalem operation to Storrs run as one continuous movement, and we call that lane LAL-1 so that pre-advice, reference numbers and POD reconciliation all point at the same thing.

To be plain about it: this is not a scheduled sailing, not a liner service, and not a published route. No capacity on it is sold, and it carries our own consignments and those of partner businesses. The transit figure below is what we have seen, not a commitment. If you are quoting freight to us, quote against the handover point — not the lane.

Because a movement this long stops being one thing in everybody's head. A five- or six-week transit touches a road feeder, a box, a crossing and a final leg, and each of those parties has its own reference format. Naming the lane gives the consignment a single identity that survives every handover, so a pre-advice raised in Jerusalem and a POD signed in Connecticut can be reconciled against each other without anyone reconstructing the chain from booking numbers.

It also makes the exceptions legible. When something sits longer than it should, we want to say which leg it sat on — not which carrier we happened to be emailing at the time.
